Isaiah 50:4b

Isaiah 50:4b

“…He awakens me morning by morning, He awakens My ear, to hear as the learned.”

Isaiah 50:4b

Back in the 80s, it seemed as though there was a barrage of coffee commercials that tried to convince us that the best way to start our day was with a good cup of coffee. The thought of the rich aroma while reading the morning paper almost seemed indisputable if one was to head off to work with their mind in the proper direction. Although I’m sure those advertising campaigns made a lot of money for the coffee companies, some people probably still had pretty rotten days after they left the driveway. It’s not enough to just start one’s day on a good note, there needs to be an “all day cup of miracle java” that cannot only give a good start, but sustain a person when things go bad.

Many people find their morning devotion time with Jesus as effective as a good cup of coffee. It wakes you up, gives you hope and leaves a sweet taste in your mind. The only difference between God’s Word and that cup of coffee is that His Word is a bottomless that will continue to invigorate our senses long after we have closed the book. If anyone needs a quick jolt of energy, they can stop wherever they are at and simply talk to God. As many cups of encouragement that one may require is how many God is willing to pour out each and every day. So, yes, coffee is delicious, but the best part of waking up is really knowing that God’s cup is overflowing, and it gives more than an adrenaline rush, it gives everlasting life.

God Bless,
