James 5:16-18
Confess your trespasses to one another, and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The effective, fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much. Elijah was a man with a nature like ours, and he prayed earnestly that it would not rain; and it did not rain on the land for three years and six months. And he prayed again, and the heaven gave rain, and the earth produced its fruit.
James reminds us that Elijah was a man just like us, yet his prayers were powerful and effective. The key was his obedience and alignment with God’s will.
Reflect on areas in your life where God may be calling you to step out in obedience. Remember, it’s not about your own strength or ability but about trusting God and being willing to follow His lead. What small step of obedience can you take today that might lead to powerful results in God’s kingdom?
