John 15:10-11

John 15:10-11

“If you keep My commandments, you will abide in My love, just as I have kept My Father’s commandments and abide in His love. These things I have spoken to you, that My joy may remain in you, and that your joy may be full.

John 15:10-11

These verses are obvious commands and promises from Jesus as He spoke to His disciples. But they also reveal an inside look at the heart of our Savior. What overjoyed the heart of Jesus was the realization that after His work on the cross was completed, we would be able to have the same depth of relationship with Him as He has with the Father. This is part of why “for the joy set before Him, He endured the cross” (Hebrews 12:2).

Remember, joy is not necessarily a feeling or emotion but an absolute, unwavering assurance.  Take hold of that assurance today, knowing that it’s the very joy that beats in the heart of our loving Savior, Jesus Christ. We have been reconciled! The Lord be magnified!

I’ve got that joy, joy, joy, joy…
