John 8:11b

John 8:11b

And Jesus said, “Neither do I condemn you; go, and from now on sin no more.”

John 8:11b

When the Pharisees brought the woman who had been caught in adultery to Jesus, they sought to test Him by reminding Him of the Law that, according to Moses, said this woman should be stoned. It was then that Jesus bent down and wrote something in the sand with His finger. I like to think that He wrote a list of all of their own sins, so as to bring conviction among them. The Bible doesn’t say specifically what it was. What we do know, is that when He had finished, there was none left standing to accuse her. Jesus bestowed mercy and forgiveness on that woman. He met her right where she was at.

He loves us even in the middle of our darkest sins. He also loves us so much that He will not leave us to die in our sins but to be brought out of them and into glory. We can have the confidence that we are forgiven and taken by the hand of Jesus to a better life; a life that was designed purposefully for His glory. Go forth and sin no more in the confidence of what Jesus has done for you today.

God Bless,
