Luke 1:1-4

Luke 1:1-4

Inasmuch as many have taken in hand to set in order a narrative of those things which have been fulfilled among us, just as those who from the beginning were eyewitnesses and ministers of the word delivered them to us,  it seemed good to me also, having had perfect understanding of all things from the very first, to write to you an orderly account, most excellent Theophilus,  that you may know the certainty of those things in which you were instructed.

Luke 1:1-4

Luke was a Gentile doctor who God used to write nearly 25 percent of the New Testament in two long volumes: the Gospel of Luke and the history of the early church, the Book of Acts. Both were written by him to one individual, Theophilus, which means lover of God. What strikes me is the lengths to which Luke would go to be sure his friend was confident and strong in his faith In Jesus.

Discipleship, one on one ministry, is certainly the building block of a strong church. With whom are you sharing the things of God that He has taught you? And who is sharing with you to help you grow stronger in your faith? May the Lord prompt you to follow Luke’s example and be ready to pour out what God has poured in!

Longing to share His ways,

Pastor Jack Abeelen
