Luke 2:25-26

Luke 2:25-26

And behold, there was a man in Jerusalem whose name was Simeon, and this man was just and devout, waiting for the consolation of Israel, and the Holy Spirit was upon him.  And it had been revealed to him by the Holy Spirit that he would not see death before he had seen the Lord’s Christ.

Luke 2:25-26

We are told here in verse 25 that when Mary and Joseph went to Jerusalem to dedicate their son to God, there was a man named Simeon. And this guy Simeon was a godly man, a devout man, and the Holy Spirit was upon his life.

What a great way to be noticed. “The Holy Spirit was upon his life!”  And so what was the result of the Holy Spirit being upon his life?  Well, it looks like he knew God had a plan and God was revealing it to him.  When the Holy Spirit is upon your life, God will open your eyes to the things He has planned for you.

In verse 26, we are told that the Holy Spirit revealed to him, whispered to him, that he was not going to die until he saw the Messiah.  Have you ever had God whisper in your ear the plan He has for your life?  He sometimes does that!

Seeking to hear His plans,
