Luke 9:26

Luke 9:26

For whoever is ashamed of Me and My words, of him the Son of Man will be ashamed when He comes in His own glory, and in His Father’s, and of the holy angels.

Luke 9:26

This forthright statement from our Lord is clear, understandable, and frightening. It was spoken by Jesus as He called each of us to take up our cross and follow Him, denying ourselves and losing our lives for His sake. He asked in Luke 9:25 what profit would one find if he gained the whole world but lost his soul? Then comes this warning that we should never be ashamed of Him or His words.

One thing for sure, now is the time to agree with Jesus, to represent Him well to the world around us, and to share His love with anyone who would hear us. The world hasn’t seen the last of Jesus, soon He will come in His glory and every knee will bow and tongue confess that He is the Lord. Ashamed of Him? Ashamed of His Words? God forbid, I am so grateful to belong to Him and to be given the privilege to speak on His behalf and live to please only Him.

I belong to Jesus and He is My Lord!
