Mark 6:17-18
For Herod himself had sent and laid hold of John and bound him in prison for the sake of Herodias, his brother Philip’s wife; for he had married her. Because John had said to Herod, “It is not lawful for you to have your brother’s wife.”
Mark 6:17-18
John the Baptist’s unwavering commitment to truth, even in the face of opposition from powerful figures like Herod, challenges us to examine our own convictions. In a world that often pressures us to compromise our beliefs, John’s example reminds us of the importance of standing firm in God’s truth.
Are there areas in your life where you might be tempted to soften your stance on biblical principles? God gave John the courage to speak truth and He will do that for you as well, even when it’s difficult or unpopular. Remember, our ultimate allegiance is to God, not to human approval or comfort. Let Him fill you with boldness.
