Mark 8:1-3
In those days, the multitude being very great and having nothing to eat, Jesus called His disciples to Him and said to them, “I have compassion on the multitude, because they have now continued with Me three days and have nothing to eat. And if I send them away hungry to their own houses, they will faint on the way; for some of them have come from afar.”
Mark 8:1-3
Jesus looked at the multitude and declared, “I have compassion.” This wasn’t mere pity—it was a deep, visceral movement of His heart that compelled Him to action. The Greek word suggests being moved in one’s innermost being.
Whatever your need—physical, emotional, or spiritual—know that it moves the heart of Jesus to compassion. He doesn’t simply feel sorry for you; He enters into your suffering with the purpose of helping you. His compassion compelled Him to heal, deliver, teach, and feed. That same compassion is directed toward you today. Your weakness, your weariness, your hunger—all of it moves Him to meet you right where you are. What need in your life seems overwhelming today? How does knowing Jesus is moved with compassion change your perspective?
