Matthew 1:23

Matthew 1:23

“Behold, the virgin shall be with child, and bear a Son, and they shall call His name Immanuel,” which is translated, “God with us.”

Matthew 1:23

Matthew, writing of our Savior’s birth, quotes directly from a 700-year-old prophecy found in Isaiah 7:14 and it could not have been made any clearer for us. A miraculously born child, delivered by a virgin, will be called Immanuel, God with us. The significance of Christmas is just that; God having promised to send a Redeemer who would come to save us from our sins, was born to Mary and Joseph even as He had promised.

This Christmas, may you find the opportunity to tell your children, your family, and your friends the miracle of Jesus and the reason for His coming. God is with us to save us. His life is the greatest gift of all!

Merry CHRISTmas to all of you,

Pastor Jack Abeelen
