Matthew 5:21-22a

Matthew 5:21-22a

“You have heard that it was said to those of old, ‘You shall not murder, and whoever murders will be in danger of the judgment.’  But I say to you that whoever is angry with his brother without a cause shall be in danger of the judgment.”

Matthew 5:21-22a

Have you caught yourself flying off the handle lately and you’re not even sure why?  Being mad for mad’s sake, mad at the world, mad at life, mad at those around you. This warning from Jesus gives us all a good heart check because the hurts we experience can soon turn into anger and then morph into hate, which Jesus equates to murdering someone in our hearts.

When those hurts begin to fester, give them to Jesus and if needed, He’ll be your vindicator. Trust that He will sort out all that pain and give you peace and then you won’t be in danger of the judgment.

Trusting Him with my hurts,

Pastor Gerard Deleeuw
