Matthew 6:3-4
“But when you do a charitable deed, do not let your left hand know what your right hand is doing, that your charitable deed may be in secret; and your Father who sees in secret will Himself reward you openly.”
Matthew 6:3-4
Jesus here introduces the Christian sleight-of-hand. In other words, don’t even dwell on it yourself, give and forget. Ideally our deeds and giving are not only to be joyful and generous but also to be done with the right motive and attitude. So we should give in secret, without drawing attention to ourselves in any way.
Then the giving becomes a personal, private moment of worship that finds pleasure with God. He knows what we are doing and will reward us accordingly. If our heartfelt motive is not to seek the reward of God or man but simply to please Him, then He’ll take care of the rest.
Giving and doing for Him,
