Before David died, he had accumulated all the material for his son, Solomon, to use to build the Temple. Once Solomon became established, he commenced building the Temple, which took seven years to construct. In addition, he built his own palace, which took 13 years to complete. Chapter eight of this study describes the dedication of the Temple and Solomon’s sermon and lengthy prayer of dedication.
