Proverbs 4:23

Keep your heart with all diligence, For out of it spring the issues of life.

Proverbs 4:23

Our hearts are at the very core of everything we do.  Solomon learned that he could know God in his head and yet his heart was not always right.  And so he challenged his son and us to protect our hearts.  And to do so diligently!  

Diligence means to “constantly put effort in what is to be accomplished.” This is a good reminder that we are to constantly guard our hearts and minds from the things of this world.  There is a lot of stuff out there to guard against!  And to fill our hearts and minds with the word of God.  And in doing so, our lives will overflow like a spring with the blessings and peace of our Lord.
