Psalm 23:1-3
The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want. He makes me to lie down in green pastures; He leads me beside the still waters. He restores my soul; He leads me in the paths of righteousness For His name’s sake.
Psalm 23:1-3
Thought maybe we could use a word of refreshing and encouragement from the Lord today. David, who wrote this Psalm, had an acute awareness of the relationship between a shepherd and his sheep. He recognized the complete dependency the sheep have on their shepherd. If he doesn’t lead them to a safe place to eat and drink, they will die. David knew he could trust in and lean on his Heavenly Father and want for nothing, but have every need met.
Let Him be your Shepherd today. He will give you all you need and allow you to feed restfully on His Word and drink peacefully from the river of life that flows from His throne. In it you will be restored and blessed with the righteousness that comes only through the Son, our Good Shepherd.
