He will not allow your foot to be moved; He who keeps you will not slumber.
Behold, He who keeps Israel shall neither slumber nor sleep. The Lord is your keeper; The Lord is your shade at your right hand.
As you read these three verses from Psalm 121, do you get the impression that God is rather capable of keeping us in His loving hands. It seems that this “keeping” is happening all day and night because even when we are sound asleep the Lord is diligently alert, watching over us. Not only does He keep us but He gives us a cool place to rest from the pull of the flesh and the world.
So rest today in the fact that He, who is the only One that can save us, is also the only One who can keep us. Not our family, not our church, not even ourselves, only Him.
