Hebrews 9:27

Hebrews 9:27

And as it is appointed for men to die once, but after this the judgment.

Hebrews 9:27

At some point we will all die.  It is by the Lord’s will that we have our breath today.  I’ve often noticed when officiating funerals that people tend to take a good hard look at their own lives when saying goodbye to a friend or loved one. Having a healthy perspective on our own mortality can cause us to redeem the time and live each day that God gives us to the fullest.

But what about having that perspective toward others.  If today we were to lose that close friend or family member would having the last word in an argument matter?  Or would it be worth holding on to that grudge for another moment?  How sad it is to hear of situations where folks have to sit at the bedside of someone close to them and do everything they can to backtrack over past regrets.  May we let the Lord give us His unconditional love for those around us and cherish each moment we have with those we hold dear.

Grateful for today,

Pastor Gerard Deleeuw
