Galatians 5:1

Stand fast therefore in the liberty by which Christ has made us free, and do not be entangled again with a yoke of bondage.

Galatians 5:1

Paul continues with his subject of being free in the Lord and not in the bondage of the Law. The Judaizers came into the area of Galatia and were trying to tell them if they’re saved, they still had to follow the Jewish law. Paul stressed now that we’re free in Christ, that is not true. We are under Jesus’ grace.

Many people don’t like Christianity because to them it seems to be a bunch of rules to follow. Yet look what Paul writes in today’s verse, we have liberty in Christ. Of course, we should be avoiding sin, but what about those areas that aren’t defined as sin? We have the liberty to do them or not do them, depending on whether that activity stumbles others. 

Being a Christian doesn’t mean following a bunch of rules and regulations, it means following Christ and letting Him be your guide.
