Pastor Rick Nerud

Rick Nerud, the Senior Pastor of Calvary Chapel Saint George Utah, is a warm-hearted family man, dynamic teacher of God’s Word, missions lover, Jesus seeker, and passionate discipler. Pastor Rick’s walk with the Lord started in college when he and his wife Jill, then girlfriend, attended an event held by the Fellowship of Christian Athletes on their college campus without knowing it was a Christian event. Both Jill and Rick received Christ as their Lord and Savior that night and went home to read the Word of God.
Since then, life for the Nerud family was full and busy. Pastor Rick served in the Marine Corps, moved his family from station to station, promoted to Major, and began working for Wal-Mart, which led him all the way to Utah. When Pastor Rick became the Senior Pastor of CCSGU, their congregation was made up of about 75 adults, but throughout the years God has richly blessed this church with more and more passionate believers who bring the Gospel to their communities and to the ends of the earth. ​

Pastor Charlie Campbell

After reading apologetics books for one year as a 21-year-old atheist, Charlie Campbell realized his rejection of God was not rooted in logic, but rather a desire to continue to live a sinful life. Since committing his life to Christ in 1990, Pastor Charlie has devoted his life to the study and teaching God’s Word in many different facets, including School of Ministry and Calvary Chapel Bible College courses on world religions, systematic theology, church history, evangelism, and much more. Although public speaking was a great fear of Charlie’s throughout high school and college, the Lord has grown in him a deep burden and desire to teach and speak to help others walk with Christ and understand why they believe what they believe.

Now Pastor Charlie serves as the Founder and Director of Always Be Ready Apologetics Ministry, is an author of many brilliant Christian books, and guest teaches at churches and conferences on topics regarding the defense of the Christian faith. ​

Pastor Sam Barela

Having been transformed by God’s amazing grace in 1990, Sam lives his life passionately for the Lord serving as the Senior Pastor at Calvary Chapel NorthGrove, a sister church of CC WestGrove. Pastor Sam has taught the Word of God and discipled many for over 25 years, and has continued to labor with CC NorthGrove’s church plant since the very beginning four years ago. His service, teaching, church, and life is evidently marked by the love of Christ. Sam, his wife Charlene of 36 years, and family have experienced God’s faithfulness through many seasons of life, season of great blessing and seasons of difficult trials.

Pastor Sam is a joy to all who know him through his warm heart and deep burden for all people to know the saving grace of Jesus Christ.

Guest Musician – Bryan Malolot

Bryan Malolot uses his gifts of worship at Calvary Chapel San Juan Capistrano as the Worship Director. He is a bright and gifted musician who loves to serve his King by leading God’s people in worship.
