Jeremiah 30:10-11

Jeremiah 30:10-11

“Therefore do not fear, O My servant Jacob,’ says the LORD, ‘Nor be dismayed, O Israel; For behold, I will save you from afar, And your seed from the land of their captivity. Jacob shall return, have rest and be quiet, And no one shall make him afraid.  For I am with you,’ says the LORD, “to save you; Though I make a full end of all nations where I have scattered you, Yet I will not make a complete end of you. But I will correct you in justice, And will not let you go altogether unpunished.’

Jeremiah 30:10-11

God’s word through His prophet Jeremiah to the nation of Judah was given at a time when they were being carried away captive from the Land of Promise to Babylon, where they would stay in bondage for 70 years. In this land of idolotry, they would learn there was only One True God, their God!

In our verses, the Lord even tells them He would make a full end of Babylon for its wickedness. However, because the nation of Judah was His, He would bring them back to Himself through correction. I love how God deals with His own. Sometimes we need a little shaking, but fear not, His work, even the pressure of His correction, is always for our good, for we belong to Him (Hebrews 12:7-8).

He keeps me on the straight and narrow!
