With the Northern Kingdom now destroyed, the remaining chapters of 2 Kings document the history of the Southern Kingdom of Judah. This study looks at Hezekiah, the good king of Judah, who restored spiritual worship among the people. Because of Hezekiah’s relationship with the Lord, his intercession brought deliverance from the intended destruction by the Assyrians where in one night a single angel destroyed 186,000 soldiers. The end of Hezekiah’s reign included a miraculous recovery from an illness and God graciously extending his life by 15 extra years. Unfortunately, this was a time when pride caused him to get away from the Lord.
